Independent, Playa del Carmen hotels

"Pros: Close to el fogon and don sirloin for eating options. Walkable to centro (eg 20 mins to Benito and 5th) Beautiful room, I looked out towards the coast and had a tree view and morning sun. great big bed, nice firm mattress. Was close to my chosen dive shop. Cons: Room not soundproofed - can hear outside, upstairs, next door and everything in the hallway Hallway is open to outdoors, traps heat and gets hotter than outside. Requested maintenance as (weird problem) the shower ONLY had HOT...

"Great hotel!!! Noisy from the clubs nearby at night but the property grounds and rooms are great!! Great staff at the Yum Yum Fusion restaurant! Isacc was a great waiter. Bartender at the hotel was awesome too. Will definitely visit again. "

"Been to many other resorts and this is hands down the best! Pool is amazing and the nightlife is UNMATCHED. Live bands and performances almost every night and DJ on top of that after all in a close and inviting public square. Staff and the entertainment team are top notch and the food is incredible. 5 times visited, many more to go!"

"Wonderful stay at the Reef Coco Beach. All staff members we encountered were friendly and always willing to help. The resort is small and the afternoon pool games are not on the same level you'd get at the larger resorts, but the activities team always worked hard to keep people interested. "Staff, location, restaurant and food are great. The only thing is that the music may keep you up a bit in late night but who cares about sleeping while on holiday. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and music wasn’t an issue as I didn’t need to get up early. Highly recommend. "

The only thing is that laundry is listed as an amenity but they don’t have any laundry on site. Thankfully there is a place around the corner, Lavandería 24 horas, the address is; Calle 8 norte Mza 051 Num, Manzana y 35 Lote 001, entre avenida 30, 77710 Playa del Carmen, Q.R., Mexico She had our laundry done the next morning for a good price and helped us out because we were planning to do...
