"Feels like coming home, only better, every time we stay. Love that the owner is on site and all staff recognize us and are polite and skilled and prompt. "Great hotel location but the air conditioner in the room wasn't working initially yet the staff was attentive. Also they need to clean up a bit of the landscaping. Great room size for the price with a nice dinner but they need a TV in that common dinner area. Also WiFi needs to improve."

"The room was perfect for us! Spacious and clean. One of the beds had 2 bent legs but didn’t affect anything. No hot water water in the shower but it was ok, not freezing cold, kind of refreshing actually. Pool looked nice but didn’t have time to use it, next time. Will stay again! "

"The newly renovated Tropicana was having a soft opening. Staff was a little green and not all the rooms were open. That said it is still a lovely place and a wonderful location to visit old town San Jose del Cabo. Staff was very anxious to make our stay overnight a wonderful experience and they did! Have stayed at the Tropicana off and on for 30 years!"

"The hotel is very unique and the garden area and pool area is beautiful. Located near the center of town is great. It allowed us easy access to shopping and dining. The room need some updating, the couch was tired and the bathroom was musty and old. A little tlc in these areas would make it great. The bed was very comfortable."

"As the title mentions, this hotel is a great way to stay in the area without paying resort prices. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The only thing that was challenging was that the road to the hotel was up a large, steep hill, but it was only about $5 to catch an Uber to anywhere in town. The steep hill means that the view from the hotel is pretty awesome too."

"It was our first visit to this property and it was a great week. We plan to return next year. Only downsides…. Food and drinks on property are overpriced considering the alcoholic beverages were not strong at all. Other downside is the fact it is too dangerous to swim in the ocean in that area. Other than that, the property and staff were great!!"
