"It is a historic hotel so expect the look to be a little dated, however, that is what adds charm to it. Overall a comfortable hotel, bathroom not so great (review is for FORESTWING TWIN FOREST SIDE). French restaurant is very nice for dinner as well as breakfast, it feels a little formal but a nice experience. Hotel garden is nice, staff is very helpful."

"This is a traditional ryoken located in a tucked away area. We took a taxi to get there because it was raining but were able to leave by bus. The private onsen was lovely, big and beautifully built. We slept really well in the comfortable tatami room and futon bed."

"I normally stay at Marriott properties, but there weren’t any in the area so I picked this place based on location and price. It was ideal to see the city center and close to the beach."

"The service was exceptional as were the dinners and breakfasts. The insensitive were are well equipped and relaxing after a day of exploring. The property is a short walk from the rope way. The only reason I didn’t give this property a five star is that is is old and in need of renovations ( peeling linoleum and water (?) stains in the toilet area. "

"This hotel was excellent - fantastic and helpful service, very clean both in the rooms and in the common areas, great food, serene atmosphere, and generously sized rooms. Our room had a balcony with a private onsen, which was absolutely worth the splurge. The view was beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfy the futons were when we slept. The location was convenient to the bus lines but still so peaceful and quiet. 10/10 stars, without hesitation. I would love to come back!"

"The view was amazing. Onsen was amazing. Wake up to view of Mt Fuji almost every other day, when it is not cloudy. 7eleven and Lawson is just a walk away. Bus stop is right next door. Only downside is the cleaning service was not provided on daily basis. Maybe we need to call them but we didnt bother to. Perfect stay, view and location. "

"Came back here after 7 years with my family. The private baths were great! Food was amazing. But the thing with the public baths is that you’re with other people who don’t know the bath etiquette— meaning there’s going to be lots of long hair floating in the women’s bath and people who don’t scrub down before getting in. Wish there was a little more signage that’s obvious for those who don’t speak/read Japanese. Getting into the outdoors bath and having a hairball stick to me didn’t feel amazing at all…"

"The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and had a lovely rustic atmosphere. The amenities were good, and the staff was very friendly and spoke great English. The private hot spring was easy to book a time slot for, and was very relaxing. The staff prepared a handy map of local restaurants and stores, as well as English menus, but the opening hours on things is very inconsistent since it’s a small mountain town, so despite things being listed as opening at 5, we went for dinner at 5:30 and nothing was open until almost 6:30 aside from the convenience store. "
