Excellence Resorts, Punta Cana hotels

"The resort is beyond beautiful. And the staff are very nice. There is a wide variety of food and drink options to choose from. We actually were not able to do all of them in one trip. Food is very different than I was expecting. But regardless of where you stay, I don’t think that it would be much better. Same goes for the drinks. They are very artificial and super sugary which made me sick so I stuck to beer and champagne the whole time. Or manhattans/old fashions and dry martinis. The wine is also good! For Punta Cana, I would give Excellence 10/10 because the resort really was phenomenal. It was sooo quiet. So secluded. We never had to fight over cabanas and chairs. The other people there were cool and not drunkenly annoying. Definitely more of a couples retreat. No other hotels nearby. And the bathtub is in the main area of your room and can face the water. The best restaurants were the French restaurant (Joel is amazing) for dinner and The lobster house for breakfast. The bacon and waffles are sooo much better here than at the buffet. The swim up bar is cool and also not over crowded and the pool is hugeeeee! "

"The property was very nice and amazing. The pools were great and chairs were always available. The ocean was amazing and very nice to swim. The upstairs bar had amazing service and great lemon drop martinis. Our AC went out one afternoon and they took a little while to fix it but we left and it was fixed when we got back. The hibachi restaurant was the best. The steak and seafood restaurants were okay. Breakfast and lunch buffets were great, had lots of variety. "

"I stayed in Barceló Bávaro Beach (Adults only), but also enjoyed the amenities at Barceló Bávaro Palace as many restaurants and the main shopping area are located in this part of the resort. My husband and I had the most wonderful time, the beach is stunning, the hotel is beautiful and there are so many activities during the day that there’s no way to get bored. The food was delicious, abundant and diverse; shout-out to the AMAZING STAFF (servers, waiters, recreational, front desk, bartenders, and everyone!). I highly recommend staying in this property and I really hope we can come back!"
