"We traveled to Otsu on a whim and chose Hotel Koo because we wanted to experience what it was like to stay in a traditional Japanese home. This did not disappoint- the accommodations we beautiful, serene and unusual. The town of Otsu is very quiet, but the people are amazing and the walkability down to Lake Biwa is great."

"Beautiful house in excellent condition in a nice quiet area. Everything you need is provided in the house. The phone in the house did not seem to work to call the reception though. The nearest Tofukuji Station is only a few minutes’ walk away with two convenience stores on the way. Love to return in the future; cannot recommend more!! "

"Amazing stay! Pick up by owner at kyoto station Traditional house in perfect condition, modern bathroom, good shower, beautiful decoration, very clean, good beds, washmachine and dryer, daily cleaning, owner brings every day tasty breakfast, nice treats to discover, couple of owners are delicious! Of course check in was great and the property itself is beautiful (with great room service) but the staff going above and beyond is what makes this a true 5-star property. The Rooftop bar is exclusive for the 48 guests and is spectacular. The staff at the hotel are amazing. Has a chill vibe with a beetles theme and cool music playing, very kid friendly, story books, art supplies, origami, a shop inside the lobby, room sizes are huge can sleep up to 6 the futons were super comfortable, the bathroom is so fancy and luxurious, owner was very nice, laundry facilities are so clean. "We got confused and arrived to another location, staff was nice enough to book a taxi for us, left phone in taxi and staff in hotel was super helpful to find taxi driver and fetch my phone back (many thanks to Mina-san) in few hrs I got my phone back, and I was able to enjoy of my stay. Premises do not have a PC for users so if you are in business trip or requiere PC for any reason won’t be able to rely on their resources, everything else was good."

"Our room was larger than our other Japanese hotel experiences. It was clean and so close to the station that it is impossible to miss. Convenient grocery and take away options nearby, as well as restaurants. I was visiting family in Ishiyama, one JR stop away, which was very convenient. "
