"Do not miss the view of Osaka at night from the bar! The hotel was very nice. Staff was welcoming. Beds were comfortable. Great location! We could walk to many of the major sites, join your groups, and easily catch a train to other sites of interest."

"After you got off from a long flight, you can walk to your hotel from terminal. Everything is do nice. The staff were very helpful when we checked in and checked out. They made extra effort to make sure we had a pleasant stay."

"Great location for an early morning flight. Easy to find from the train station. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Free airport shuttle is very handy. My only complaint is that I had booked a non-smoking room, however the room smelled strongly of stale smoke. It must have been a smoking room in a past life. "

"Perfect stay to end our Japan trip! Free shuttle to the airport and very close which made everything very smooth and easy. The staff were very kind and the room was very spacious and clean. They also had coin operated washers and dryers which was very convenient as well. "

"What a gem of a hotel. We loved this place, the room was comfortable and clean. Beds were comfy, staff were always smiling and happy. The hotel itself is beautiful and we especially loved the amenities table with all the goodies including facemasks and gorgeous hair oil. Close to the station and great food. Next time we're in Kyoto we will book the Richmond no hesitation. "

"The staff were nice and kind. Were really helpful even with the language barrier. The rooms are always clean when you're in Japan. You can always count on cleanliness in Japan. Naturally, the room we had was a bit small from your average double-sized bedroom, but it was completely manageable with our 2 check in luggages and 2 carry on. Great price for what we got. Breakfast was okay, but useful if you don't want to worry about breakfast in the morning. Recommended stay for budget travellers. "

"This was the best all around hotel we’ve ever stayed at around the world, at any price point. Location 10/10, breakfast 10/10, aesthetic 10/10, bakery in the lobby was incredible. The rooms were very large and had all the amenities you could ask for. This hotel was so good we cancelled our next hotel for the rest of our stay in Kyoto and came back here. Can’t say enough good things about this place."

"They had special cultural events almost every night and the area was a great home base for getting around Kyoto. The rooms were lovely and modern with a traditional Japanese style. I enjoyed the onsen too (and that it was tattoo friendly in that you could buy stickers from the front desk that were a suitable cover). "
