"I enjoyed our stay very much overall. The property itself is very good and the staff is exceptional. I personally didn’t care for the location of the hotel. While nothing was extremely far away, restaurants were limited unless you wanted to walk 10-15 minutes. Last time I was in Kyoto we stayed at a small hotel in Gion, which was just more convenient for us, given our particular needs. "

"Fantastic apartment-style room. We (2 adults, 2 kids - 8&10) had lots of space. The kitchenette allowed us to make our own beeakfast most days. The hotel had small appliances that we could borrow such as toaster and rice cooker. Laundry on site was quick and efficient. We could not have asked for a better hotel. The location was not ideal in that it was not very close to much of the shopping areas (eg. Nishiki market is about a 15-20 min walk). There is a grocery store across the street as well...

"Love this property. We had difficulty understanding how to use washer and dryer as well as air cleaner. It would be have been nice if someone walked us up to our rooms and showed us how to use these appliances when we arrived. The property is very serene but it is too dark, which made it difficult to safely see where I was walking.maybe better for younger clients. "

"This hotel was great and an excellent price point! I would recommend it to anyone looking to visit Kyoto and save on accommodations. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with tons of options. The hotel feels like a large operation and staff are moving people through, but taking your shoes off makes it feel more homey. The room was much more spacious than other rooms we experience in Japan. Super clean. It was close to Kyoto station, but not close to anything else we wanted to do/see/eat in Kyoto. Proximity to the station made it easy to get around, though! "

"This Onsen was incredible. The staff was very polite and helpful. The rooms were spacious and traditional, a had yukata for us to wear around the hotel. We had a private bath that was beautiful and very relaxing. The meal they prepared for us was very elegant and delicious. Beware that it is very seafood heavy (my wife isn’t a huge seafood fan). There is a bit of a language barrier, but it didn’t keep us from communicating (google translate helped a few times). Overall a great experience in a less crowded and beautiful area of Kyoto that was fairly easy to access"

Clean, close to station

"Our room was larger than our other Japanese hotel experiences. It was clean and so close to the station that it is impossible to miss. Convenient grocery and take away options nearby, as well as restaurants. I was visiting family in Ishiyama, one JR stop away, which was very convenient. "

"If you are looking for a remote lake get away in northern Otsu this is ideal. This location suits the out door adventure types who want to be away from Otsu city. The lake was an amazing place to swim. What also would be a Great Lake side party atmosphere and relaxation with a group of friends. Amazing cleanliness despite the overall facility being quite old. However rooms and common room air conditioned which was a life saver in the hight of a Japanese summer. The Hostel is not located near any shops and not close to the train station so be prepared to do some serious walking or better rent a bike whilst you are there."
