"We really enjoyed our stay here. It was really nice and the amenities and breakfast was superb. Staff was nice and friendly. They helped us with shipping our luggage too. If you have tattoos like me (I have a whole sleeve), be ready to buy patches to cover them before you get in the onsen. It took us an hour to cover my arm up and an hour to remove. We spent about $60 worth of patches but rules are rules! Regardless, highly recommend and would come back again!"

"What a gem of a hotel. We loved this place, the room was comfortable and clean. Beds were comfy, staff were always smiling and happy. The hotel itself is beautiful and we especially loved the amenities table with all the goodies including facemasks and gorgeous hair oil. Close to the station and great food. Next time we're in Kyoto we will book the Richmond no hesitation. "

"This was a fantastic hotel for the price. The rooms were great. Clean. Laundry room with supplies for extended stays. Breakfast restaurant recommend as it was fully loaded for everything you may want. Staff was great. And the location was perfect for easy walkable access from train station. And to then uber / taxi to the tourist locations was super convenient. Temple across the street and shrine park behind hotel. "

"This hotel is a great place to stay. We stayed in an Executive Twin Room which was 21 sq. metres and very comfortable for the two of us. Facilities are excellent: great staff with limited English though, rooms are clean and the breakfast was great. Location was perfect for buses and trains.Highly recommend this hotel. You will not find a better place to stay."

"This was the best all around hotel we’ve ever stayed at around the world, at any price point. Location 10/10, breakfast 10/10, aesthetic 10/10, bakery in the lobby was incredible. The rooms were very large and had all the amenities you could ask for. This hotel was so good we cancelled our next hotel for the rest of our stay in Kyoto and came back here. Can’t say enough good things about this place."
