"Quite possibly one of the hidden gems of Hakuba Goryu. If you want the true Hakuba local experience and taken back in time, this is your spot. No frills and feel like you are staying with your relatives. Amazing hosts that go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. "A little hostel type inn near the train station in Hakuba, walkable distance from many shopping and dinning options, as well as close to the bus stop to take you to many hill in the area. The inn is as charming as the Seiko the owner, a sweet lady who treats you more as family than a customer. A very affordable option for the area."

"Hotel La Vigne was a fantastic stay—modern, comfortable, and backed by top-notch hospitality. One of the highlights was the daily shuttle service to both Hakuba 47 and Happo One, making it incredibly convenient to hit the slopes without worrying about transportation. After long days skiing, returning to a cozy and well-appointed hotel was the perfect way to unwind. Breakfast each morning was a satisfying start to the day, leaving us full and fueled for our adventures. The hotel’s restaurant was another standout feature, especially the teppan dining experience—expertly prepared and delicious. What made it even more special was the knowledgeable wine concierge, who introduced us to some amazing local Japanese wines, a true hidden gem of the experience. "Stayed here for 4 nights and it was the perfect spot for skiing. Just opposite the beginner slope chair lift and only a short walk from the ski school. The staff were excellent and very welcoming, especially the man at reception. We really appreciated the buffet dinner after long days of skiing. Would definitely recommend booking a stay here. Rooms are very cosy and beds are comfy."

Does what is says on the tin, no frills

"This is a very basic hotel, catering mostly to young Australian tourists. It is extremely conveniently located next to the Happo One gondola and several popular bars / restaurants. The rooms are clean and generally the staff were very helpful, but the physical state of the building and the smell of diesel fuel is a little off putting. The breakfast is very basic but in the hotel’s defence, everything was pretty much exactly as described and the price reflects the value you get here. "
