"I usually stay at a nearby hotel but gave the James Cook a go. I was certainly not disappointed as the room was spacious, clean, modern and in a great city location. I got room service one night and the food was tasty and piping hot. I didn’t try the restaurant or bar (lobby bar is currently closed). Overall, great vslue for money. "

"Everything about Oaks was great, my partner and I both enjoyed the room and the staff were super friendly. We chose the City view, no housekeeping package but the lovely man at the front desk added it on for no extra charge. This was my first time in Wellington so definitely made it memorable, my only complaint is that there were a lot of homeless people outside, but other than that, everything was great! "

"A nice hotel, in a great location on the waterfront. Close to public transport and the Te Papa museum. Room was spacious with a clean, modern bathroom. Helpful staff and reception were able to store my luggage for the day. Dated furniture in the bedroom with marks and stains but sheets and towels were clean. I would stay here again. "

"I guess they were busy over the holiday season - I was surprised that an airport hotel wouldn't have rooms ready and available pretty much around the clock. However, the nice man at the desk did finally manage me a room at 12 noon. I needed to be up at 4 am for my flight and had work to do before I went to bed early. Unfortunately, the room did not have a desk and there is no business center in the hotel - they suggested I could work in the restaurant; nowhere near ideal. Surprised me as one...
