"It was a very comfortable hotel - we thought they could have made the hot water, hot coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate available 24/7 as a few other hotels we've stayed at had done. Personnel was most helpful. Rooms were very clean and well-kept. Location worked out very well for us. There were some concerns in our group about what constituted a "room with a view" of the Matterhorn.....? of the city? of the neighborhood? That could be clarified in the hotel site. "The Basecamp is great. You can walk to the ski bus in about 10 minutes. We stayed 3 nights and they picked us up from the train and took us back via their shuttle which made coming and going easy. The room was extremely dry and very warm. The beds were okay. We were 4 adults in a four person room. The top bunks are very hard to get in and out of and the ladder a little tough. Would be great for small children but difficult for adults. The staff was really nice, especially the lady who checked us...

"Hotel Tannenhof exceeded our expectations! This boutique gem is centrally located, making it easy to explore everything Zermatt has to offer. John at the front desk was fantastic—offering great tips, guidance, and even booking dinner for us. We stayed in Room 37, a spacious family-style room with a patio at the top—highly recommend! Best hotel of our trip so far, and we’ll definitely be back!"

"Great hotel, great location. The main train station and the Gornergrad train are 3 min away. The main strip with shopping and restaurants is 4 min away. Everything is just far enough away for the room to be super quiet. I did not have to wake up early and drag my luggage a long way to catch the train. There is a convenient ski rental on site. "Felt more like a hostel: basic room - a bed and a sink; shared restroom, shower, and kitchen (didn't use the latter since it was just a one-day trip). Ski room and lockers were helpful."
