The area has an exceptional topography, contributing to skies that are particularly clear and sunny. Capture photos of the white summits that decorate this snowy region. Bring kids and first-timers to the Kumme and Eisfluh runs and Wolli Park for beginners.
Choose between the blue, red and black slopes of varying difficulties. Experienced skiers may prefer the Fluhalp slope. The steepest and most thrilling expert run is the Obere National, from Blauherd to Patrullarve. Ski down the eastern runs to catch lifts to the neighboring Gornergrat area with additional intermediate slopes.
In summer, walk to the marmot-watching station and learn about these fascinating Alpine animals from the plaques along the trail. Visit the nearby Leisee Lake and bring the kids to its adjacent playground. Enjoy a cookout in the designated areas and take a raft out on the water.
Note that the resort and its self-service restaurant are open year-round in this picturesque valley. Pay a daily fee for lift passes. Get here early in the morning to beat the crowds.
