"the hotel is very nice and the bed is super comfortable. I give 5 star to everything. my only suggestion is that the breakfast can be added with more nutrition value. there was no egg nor fish, a lot of rice. I can see it might be something traditional, but could use more protein. "

"温泉の中心部から少し離れていますが、湯畑の喧騒から離れて落ち着いて過ごせました。料理がポイントの宿で夕食は一斉となります。オーナーがソムリエでワインの種類は充実しています。一緒に泊まった妻がアルコールが駄目なので私もノンアルコールにしたのでご主人は少し残念そうでした。ノンアルコールのワインとかがあったら気分だけでも楽しめたかもしれません。施設は古くなっていますが、手入れは行き届いており、ベッドも快適でした。24時間の温泉があり、宿の中で何度も温泉を楽しめました。また行きたいところ思います。 "

"A beautiful Ryokan. We were welcomed with kindness and hospitality. They brought our luggage to the room, provided us with yukatas and offered amazing traditional food. The private baths were the highlight and we will miss them greatly. Highly recomend. "

"Everything was great except housekeeping. Instead of full-time staff, the interns were the ones cleaning the rooms. Socks was swept beneath the bed, personal pillows and clothes were left on the ground. Only the edge of the table was wiped. Replenishing of toilet mugs kept decreasing and even had some suspicious liquid in it on the last day of housekeeping. Onsen towels were not cleared and kept piling up. "

"The room was beyond expectation. Comfortable beds,the view is fantastic, we really enjoyed the tub in the bathroom. The onsen in the hotel is clean and you can enjoy some relaxing time.Just a few minutes walk to town to restaurants and shopping. "

"What a gem! Shibu Onsen Ichinoyu Katei is an experience in itself. A short ride from Yudanaka train station, this tradițional ryokhan is excellent. As soon as you arrive you will be greated by the hotel manager (okamisan) who is attentive and will answer any questions. Dinner and breakfast were included in the price and the food was amazing. "Loved our stay at Shibu Onsen Kokuya and would highly recommend. They made the trip into the mountains and to see the snow monkeys very easy - with transfers included and bag drop to the station. The traditional dinner and breakfast were a great experience. Also loved the variety of onsen’s available within the hotel itself - and private Onsen with your room if you want! "

"Property is about 10 mins walk from the Bus station and Hotel does not provide shuttle to and fro, hence it is inconvenient to pull fhe luggage during winter time to the hotel. The back door of the hotel helps for quick access to the Yubate. Morning and Dinner buffet offer a very good spread but there is no need to book half board for more than 1 night as menus are largely the same. "

"Very closed to the bus station, which was about 5 mins walk. The hotel is building with old architecture, but with modern updates. It was an easy check-in process. Our room was really nice and spacious. The room was clean, but my blank had a small stain on the blanket. The wifi is really good. There is a public onsen on the lower floor for guests to enjoy. We reserved a 45 mins private onsen for 3200 yen. It was well worth it! The room was roomy and clean. It has a private shower and bathroom. The we enjoyed our private onsen. Very relaxing. Highly recommend. Some tips. Don't walk in the hotel with your shoes or sneakers. There are sandals that you can walk outside the streets with. It's located in the lockers with the keys when you entered the hotel. If you want to walk around the hotel you can walk with your socks or the staff can you give a sandals. Breakfast is a buffet. Limited selections, and you have to make a time slot rsvp. They bar closed around 10pm. We loved our one night stayed. We would come back again!"

"We loved it here. The resort is amazing. The room was a good size. The view was fantastic. Close to the Yubatake, Kusatsu Gate foot bath, restaurants, and markets. They have a free shuttle to the center of town, Yubatake. Also, a shuttle to the bus stop when you go back. Plus, the free big onsen is amazing. You can also use two other hotels' onsens, but Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Resort's is the biggest and nicest. They provide a yukata for use while you're there, which is nice if you want to take pictures outside in a yukata. The staff are all super friendly and nice. We loved this place."
