"When first arriving after a very well communicated pick up from the bus stop- the appearance was a bit deceiving. While thoughts of The Shining entered our heads it was quickly removed when our lovely host sat us down and talked with us our desires for the stay. They offer ski and boot rentals, full 5 course meals for dinner and breakfast- and the most thoughtful and attentive service one could have asked for. "We loved our stay at chalet Shiga. Skiing was fantastic. The people at the chalet treated us very well, lovely authentic japenese food and setting. The location is perfect, at the bottom of ichinose. We went at the start of spring season, which did mean some of the slopes were closed, and the buses were limited. Something to be aware of. But, there was still plenty of fluffy white stuff, lifts and slopes. We didn't need to go see the snow monkeys - they came to see us 😀"
