Do take note that hotel charges ¥900 per room for bathing tax, apparently for usage of public bath (onsen), even though we did not use it at all during our 3 nights stay. "One of the best place to experience outdoor onsen at 1800m up in the mountain. Not a lot to do outside winter season if you do not drive. The surrounding is beautiful and an hour drive away from the Snow Monkey Park."

"Chisun Grand Nagano was a great place to stay for our one night in Nagano. The rooms were relatively spacious for Japan hotels and very clean and comfortable. The room even has a massage chair!!! The staff was very helpful with checking in, storing luggage, and shipping luggage to our next stop. The only complaint I’d have about the hotel is the train station is pretty loud and can be heard in the hotel room - but sometimes a lil ambient noise is nice! "

"It was our first time to this area, we chose Ryuoo upon recommendation from a Japanese friend. Very nice Western-style hotel at Ryuoo ski resort. We were in the King Suite, a 2 bedroom/2 bath with a living room. Super spacious, modern living. It is located a very short walk to the base & ticket office. "Our Host was fantastic and had the siga system set up on the tv and bath was ready for wary traveler. We wish we had booked at least two nights and definately would like to visit for again and for a few nights Having the choice of three private onsen and one in our room was a bonus "
