Do take note that hotel charges ¥900 per room for bathing tax, apparently for usage of public bath (onsen), even though we did not use it at all during our 3 nights stay. Hotel staff explained that this bathing tax will be charged regardless of usage. This is not logic, in my point of view. "The hotel is located within reasonable walking distance from the train station. The hotel room was a single double bed for two which was cramped, but it was just for sleeping so it’s doable. There was no open floor area to open a full size suitcase without having to close it every time you need to exit it use the restroom, typical of Japanese hotels. "Chisun Grand Nagano was a great place to stay for our one night in Nagano. The rooms were relatively spacious for Japan hotels and very clean and comfortable. The room even has a massage chair!!! The staff was very helpful with checking in, storing luggage, and shipping luggage to our next stop. The only complaint I’d have about the hotel is the train station is pretty loud and can be heard in the hotel room - but sometimes a lil ambient noise is nice! "
