"The location is in a residential area but walkable to nearby Imperial palace. Taxis are always available.The dining options are fine but more toward the higher price. We came during winter month so a little chilly during our walks. The hotel has good amenities in the room, replenish water, tea and coffee. There is a nearby 7-11 if you crave for snacks. Staff is polite, communicate well in English. I wish that the hotel had a spa or onsen."

"The rooms are pretty spacious and for a good price compared to the place our group was staying at in Tokyo. It's a 10 min walk from the nearest station, and very close to Kyoto Imperial palace, great if you are planning a visit there. There were no major problems, and the noise concerns brought up by previous reviews were minor in my opinion, but the only negative thing I have to say is that some of the sliding doors take quite a bit of effort to move around. Overall it was a great experience...

"I was so pleased with Hostel Mundo! It has the style of a traditional Japanese home, with all the comforts that come along with that. That means snug rooms with sleeping cushions on tatami mat floors, a warm home-like environment in the common quarters, and a welcoming staff that is knowledgeable about the surrounding area of Kyoto.
