"Hale Kai is a well designed guest house with the combination of Traditional Japanese style and Hawaiian style! It was really comfortable and relaxed during our stay. The owner are hospitalized and extremely friendly. Everything we need were prepared in the guest house. Moreover, the location is perfect because it is only a 5 mins walk from the Motomachi port and most of the souvenir shops, restaurants,and hot spring places can be access within 10 mins walk!! Highly recommended!!"

"Be anywhere outside of your room and you'd be cold within minutes, unfortunately. I personally also found the downstairs bathroom and washroom to be of a unpleasant design (being even colder with weird staircase shape) On the plus side, the quarter is still confortable and comes with towels at least. Izukogen Wanwan Paradise Hotel & Cottage

"The staff and service are very professional, kind, and very patient with my lack of Japanese fluency. It occurred to me within the first few minutes at the property that it wasn't clearly described as a pet [friendly] hotel with many accomodations for our four legged friends. There's nothing wrong with this, I love pets but was not expecting this as it was not very clear when booking through Expedia. All said, the property was very clean but dated and the rooms/beds fell short on comfort. The view to the ocean was nice, however, the sounds of Pomeranians barking in the lobby may have outshined the views. I have some misgivings on Expedia's representation of the hotel as I probably would have chosen differently and it may have biased my review. For those with pets - it's a good stay and convenient, this just wasn't for me. "
