"Simple living arrangement during Niijima visit. The guesthouse is centrally located, close to bike rental shops cafes, supermarkets and bars / restaurants. The host is very kind and helpful when our ferry out was cancelled due to strong winds. We extended our stay by one night. The guesthouse itself is very basic - small bedroom with thin futon beds and shared kitchen, washroom and shower. I couldn't get hot water but we mainly used the public Onsen anyway. "It was nice staying at this guest house Shirahama. It was only a few minutes drive from the Shirahama Beach. Also the restaurant was nice. Breakfast was only 500 Yen, but it was really delicious! "Such a cute little place, clean, simple decor with great vibe. Cramped but indoor bike parking. There was a washing machine, although it was in high demand so I had to wait for it, and it was a bit slow, but it did the trick. The onsen bath was private, which was nice, but there were only 2 of them, so I would imagine there might occasionally be a wait for that too. 5 minute walk from the bay where you could watch the ships and see the fishermen packing that morning’s catch."
