"The gardens and grounds were immaculately kept, the staff were friendly and service was prompt. The rooms are some of the nicest we’ve stayed in. Balcony view of sunsets was spectacular. Plenty of dining options and the cappuccino cafe was a great on-site perk. The larger quiet pool was peaceful and pristine. Always free loungers at the beach and pools in July. Beach had brown sugar sand, nice water and waves. Some vendors will approach but leave you alone if you say no thanks. Fabulous massages available on the beach (not connected with Riu). I can’t comment on the Riu spa or gym as I didn't use them. Live music in the lobby was nice. Sports bar was good with excellent entrees. A la carte dining varied from excellent to very good. Buffet had theme nights and many times we found their meat and fish options to be some of the best we’ve had on a buffet ever. For those with gluten restrictions the buffet had a gluten free station and most of their items in the other stations had the allergy symbols posted for wheat, fish, peanut, egg, dairy etc The Riu app shows the a la carte restaurants and menu items can be filtered by allergy. I had zero issues with cross contamination during my stay. "

"Clean, lots of activities, good food selection, friendly staff. Lots of pools with lots of bars. It tends to get rowdy with younger people partying so if you are looking for a quiet resort then this is not the place. Kid’s pool is big and water slides were great."

"Overall, the property exceeded our expectations. Our room was impeccable and we enjoyed the private rooftop with plunge pool. Our pool didn’t work two days during our stay because the water evaporated; we did call to have it fixed, but it didn’t get done before we checked out. It didn’t bother us too badly, but it would’ve been nice had the staff made more of an effort to clean the pool and fill it with water. Nonetheless, the restaurants were very good for the most part. The breakfast buffet, Italian restaurant, and French restaurant were our favorites. We didn’t try them all (10 total restaurants on property), but we found The Grill and Spice (Asian) to be mediocre at best. The activities and pools were outstanding. The staff… out of this world! It was a very peaceful vacation and we look forward to a future stay. I highly recommend using the hotel’s driving service to/from the airport. It’s totally worth it."

"This is the second time we have stayed at this resort. The staff, service, rooms, food, pools, and beach are all wonderful. We personally feel that the beachfront at this particular hotel is better maintained than any of the others in its vicinity, especially during seaweed season. We definitely recommend and will be returning in the future."
