"Delightful linens, food, ales, garden... and the staff are wonderful. A hidden gem that is a beautiful getaway easily accessible by car or railroad - or indeed on the Kennet by boat!"
"We loved the features throughout the building. The beams, low ceilings, uneven floors...really kept the character of the building. Rooms were nice albeit a bit strange having the shower in the room and not in the ensuite but good use if available space given grade 2 listed building regulations."
"Super convenient for Highgrove Gardens. Staff friendly….especially the young men working behind the bar.
Comfortable single rooms with full facilities and parking for all."

I was warmly greeted and all locations and timings were pointed out to me.My room was had a king-size bed, a two seater settee and a good quality writing desk. The room was immaculately clean and the walls were softened by coordinated artwork. There were large opening doors to a Juliet balcony, and this made the room very comfortable indeed.
One of the highlights of my visit was the spa. This was very spacious with a large swimming pool and a very clean and modern hot tub. Both the pool and the tub were maintained at a very comfortable temperature.
Breakfast at the hotel was a relatively simple affair, but because the dining room was very well presented, it felt more upmarket. The staff were quite attentive and friendly.
I requested a late check out by an hour, and this request was received warmly. This fact, however, wasn’t communicated to housekeeping and they did actually disturb me at 11:15.
Several times I had dealings with a young gentleman of colour who was working in the restaurant at breakfast (sadly, I don’t know his name). He chatted to me quite animatedly and mentioned that he was working there for the summer whilst he was not in education. This young man was a great credit to the hotel and, if you have a recognition system for staff, I would very much like to nominate him for an award.
Overall, this was the most enjoyable visit and the hotel certainly delivers within its grade.

"This motel and the Diner is really lovely,I work away quite often. The tv didn’t work in the room to start with…the staff sorted it out no problem at all.Its screw and air conditioned.
The diner gets so busy so book.
I would recommend this place, both of them 100%!"
"Convenient for my trip, staff very helpful, spar facilities very small and dated. Pool, sauna & steam room but no treatments appear to be on offer. Hotel with leisure facilities not really a spa."
