"We had a short stopover at Blue Mountain. The view was fantastic! The hotel invested in good quality fixtures: the rooms are spacious, the pool and garden terrace very nice and the bathroom with a view worth it. It’s overall comfortable and clean. Food served was also good and staff was attentive to our needs. I would rank Blue Moutain higher than most accommodations in Sri Lanka, and it would need just a bit more efficiency and attention to details to qualify for high-end.

"Lovely hotel right on the water staff as lovely tradition of lighting candles and nice welcome juice . Close enough to walk to where you need to go also good breakfast "
"Great place to spend a few days in Kandy. Fantastic views, excellent breakfast and friendly owners, who could not be more helpful. I highly reccomend this stay."
"Hotel was comfortable, safe, and they had onsite driver accommodations (apparently a thing in Sri Lanka). We didn't get to stay here long enough, and there was a festival that made the streets incredibly crowded. I wish we had the chance to explore the area more, however we made our way down (per the hotel's recommendation) to dinner at Hideout Lounge, and then back to the hotel. The pool is small and we weren't enticed to use it. Breakfast in the morning is offered as a buffet with plenty of...
"This hotel is well situated in the city but is Spartan in the extreme.
Literally one tiny bar of soap.
Tired and damaged fittings and soft coverings.
Wifi dial-up speeds."
"This is a nice little hotel in a great location. Our room was large and comfortable. Things were clean and the staff was very accommodating.
Breakfast was good. And you have your choice of a western breakfast or a Sri Lankan breakfast."
"A gem of a place - everything was delightful, from the room, to the lovely infinity pool, the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help, and the excellent food. We loved staying here. "
"Had a fantastic stay! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the amenities were excellent. Loved the convenient location as well. Would definitely stay here again!"
"The good:
1. Owner and cook are nice people.
2. Good view from the room.
The bad:
1. You are at the mercy of the staff as this is a remote place.
2. They charged a lot for a very basic breakfast, almost 5 times what you would get outside for better food.
3. No air conditioning and dirty rooms. There was a dead frog in our bathroom. Dust bin was very dirty.
4. The view was blocked by trees.
5. No telephone or credit card in this hotel. They want only cash.

"Hotel Cassendra was a real find. The staff were so lovely and really couldn't do enough to make my stay more pleasant. No question or request was too great or small for them. It is up a steep hill so.wpuld make quite a hike from Kandy but its maybe 300 rupees in a tuk tuk to get up. Very easy to walk down into Kandy however, and it also passes the viewpoint. When you get to the Royal park, there is a lane to the right of it and that ia a handy shortcut into town. It's honesly only a 10min walk. Rooms were lovely, really smart. Breakfast a little limited but it did vary each day and there was something for everyone. Overall it was just great value for money and nice to be set back a little bit off the main drag in Kandy. "
"Sidath was our waiter and made our stay so special - he was wonderful. X
Jeethm- looked after our every need by the pool . He was very attentive and pool was sparkling clean . Highly recommend this place to stay in Kandy- all staff were amazing . Thank you for looking after us so well . "
"The staff were very nice, the room was very comfortable.
The bar was fine, however I ordered hot butter mushrooms and got what i think was aubergine covered in something very heavy"

I would recommend staying here if you need amenities (such as a shampoo, showergel, and a concierge). Unfortunately, due to the festival and the crowded streets, we couldn't even tell how close we really were to the sacred tooth, or other dining/shopping options. I'm sure under normal circumstances it would have been easier to get a tuktuk or even a car to drive you down into the town."
