It was what you would expect for a budget hotel in the middle of the city. Very busy surrounding area, if I was solo travelling as a female I would prefer to be somewhere less crazy, I was with my partner so it was fine though.

The property is not maintained at all, we had a terrible smell in the room and complained more than 3 times with no response. One of the shutter didnt work and we also complained for no response, and finally, we were connected with a Tuktuk driver through the hotel that basically took us to all the places that scam tourists.

Very nice clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. Large rooms and very modern spacious bathroom. Only a few minutes ride to major bus station and train station with plenty of passing traffic to get transport to anywhere. Lots of dining options near the hotel and only 15 minutes easy walk to Kandy lake and City Centre. Highly recommend.

Comfortable and convenient
The Sevana doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside is spacious with lots of public seating areas and great views from the rooftop. We stayed here on two separate occasions and both times it was very good. Rooms are comfortable, staff are helpful. There’s a filtered water fountain with reusable glass bottles you can take to your room. The hotel organised a car and driver for us; both the car and the driver were very good, which is not always the case in Sri Lanka. There’s not many good eating options nearby, but we did find a good little restaurant across the road which did excellent dosas. It’s easy to get a tuk tuk to wherever you want to go.

Good property for a short stay in Kandy. Roof top pool is small but very clean. Room is good, A/C works well and staff very friendly. Not great if you have a disability as you need to climb 2 floors before the elevator is accessible

We just stayed 2 nights at this lovely property. The property was clean, the rooftop pool was great to cool down in the heat. The bedrooms are clean and modern, excellent beds and bedding. The only let down was the drainage smell in the bathroom. WiFi was intermittent. We would stay here again. Staff and the owners were all lovely and friendly. In a good location, within 15 minute walk to the tooth relic temple and kandy lake.

I liked this hotel. Staff were kind, the pool was good, spacious room, dinner at the restaurant was yummy. Good location close to the city centre and walking distance to lots of restaurants so good value for price. My only complaint was that there was a temple nearby that played music very loudly - all 3 nights I stayed it woke me up at 5am blaring. I’m not sure if this was a common occurrence or not and it’s not anything to do with the hotel per se but may have impacted my decisions

Truely excellent hotel - it is much better than 3 stars. The staff are friendly and helpful, the place is super clean with really top quality bedding. Food in the restaurant is good and fairly priced and the rooftop pool is fun for a quick dip. The hotel works well towards being environmentally friendly. The loction is just outside of the main city centre - an easy walk to the city or lake, a short tuk tuk to the botanical gardens and there are plenty of places to eat nearby.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sevana City. All the staff were very friendly and helpful including the restaurant. The food was good and fair prices. The room was clean and bed was comfy. Only comment would be some more space to put toiletries in the bathroom. Free water filter was very helpful. Nice outside area for lounging or dip in pool. Good location for getting to main sights by foot. We ate at ‘mystery meat’ just opposite the hotel which was also good. The hotel kindly organised a guide for a day trip to Sigiriya from why not getaways…Rehan was BRILLIANT and we would recommend him to anyone!!
