"The property is old! Needs new furniture. Staff is nice and polite, especially the restaurants. The food was excellent, although choice is limited. The travel desk is money hungry. They want to charge R280 for the same adapter for around R50 in the U.S. And most hotels don’t demand that you buy the adapter, either. They charge a trip for $10.0 US that Uber charged around $7.00 US. In addition, one needs a reservation in advance."

"We had an exceptional vacation and stay. Especially the friendly staff and the hospitality make us want to come back. Examples are Hamada Shawki and Mohamnad (life guards and beach 4 front). Nader and Emad of Housekeeping. Mohammad and Hany from the main restaurant. Dr Eslam, the clinic Doctor. And especially security staff manager who asked the driver to take us to the hospital and stay with us and bring us back (many thanks). And all the staff were very accomodating. My wife fell and injured...

"Wonderful hotel, with incredible views and beach access. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Meals were enjoyable. Comfort, design and fixtures and fittings were great. Some maybe need replacement and care. The ownership does seem to take ‘ renovations seriously, so I am sure it will be like new soon."

"First of all, this is an old and very historic hotel. Do not expect all mod-cons! That said, staff were amazing, friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough to please. Our room was large and overlooked the Corniche so was noisy until about 2am (as expected!) but compensated for by the view, the proximity to old downtown, amazing cafes and restaurants nearby. Monty’s bar very “old English” with live music after 9pm. Good food and drinks, attentive staff. But it’s smoking - and Egyptian cigarette...

"Great place to stay especially for visits to boulders beach, cape point, and Chapman’s peak drive. Hosts were extremely helpful and rooms were very well furnished. Highly recommend this accommodation. "

"We stayed in the apartment part of the hotel, which was a long walk from the hotel itself along long corridors. Reception was poor on arrival, no WiFi connection in the apartment only in the hotel bar. A bit sad and improved cleaning of patio would help"
