"Everything was great while visiting Catalonia Riviera Maya! We stayed over Christmas and New Year's, and the festivities were great for both! One major downfall is their restaurant reservation system. We had four people, two people in two rooms. The reservation system would only let us pick up to two people, I put "4 people" in the notes section and in the section that asked how many people in your room and it only worked once. We got turned away once and had to clarify ahead of time for two restaurants who couldn't promise us a spot, but did end up getting us in. Just a little frustrating when you're not wanting the buffet again and want to have a nice meal with your family. Otherwise, everything was great! And the entertainment group was great, including the pool entertainment and the shows at night!"

"We enjoyed the full facility of the property staying in Akumal and definitely enjoyed. The pools however are nicer at Tulum and more active. More beach in Akumal and have Bar 66 right on the beach. Biggest thing to know is that you must sign in and check in the 1st day you can and reserve reservations for ala carte dinners. We had 9-930 dinners a couple nights because we held off booking for 2 days hoping another restaurant would open. We saw many people arrive not having reservations therefore they were left to the buffet every day. There was next to no chance of changing/moving a reservation while there unless maybe a table of 2 and then very lucky. The Restaurants some were a 10 and some were a 5. Depending on what you ordered. "

"The customer service and hospitality at the buffet and restaurants were excellent at this resort. They were all so kind and accommodating with my girlfriend’s gluten allergy. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal. The dinner buffet was decent but nothing to write home about. However, you have the option to book a dinner reservation at one of the restaurants. The restaurant food was absolutely fantastic. As for the amenities, there were three pools (one of them with a swim up bar). But I spent most of my time snorkelling at the beach. You can borrow a snorkel free for one hour and for a whole day for $15USD. The hotel room was clean for the most part. However, the bathtub was quite dirty. We requested the front desk to clean the bath tub and they told me that they will inform housekeeping. Our bathtub was still gross the next day. I guess they didn’t inform housekeeping at all. The front desk could’ve been better. Other than that, this resort was overall great. I highly recommend to everyone."
