"An amazing and unique traditional stay in a small town outside of Kyoto. It is secluded and we were still able travel to Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Kobe. "The staff offered me a cup of tea as I was checking in. The room was spacious. The shower and tub area was great and included a rainfall shower too. The bed was comfortable. The tea and water in the room. The balcony with a view of the mountains. And it was so close to the train station. I would come back for sure. I wish I could have stayed longer. GREAT place to stay."

"This is a gorgeous property and really peaceful. The staff service was wonderful and attentive. We lost our bag on a public bus and the staff drove us to the police station to file a report, giving us a couple hours of their time, and were helpful throughout. The room was great, if a little cold in January, but they provided heating and thick blankets. The private bath was wonderful, especially after they taught us how to heat the tub."

"The property itself is excellent. Clean, you have a kitchen and laundry right in your room and the cost was very attractive. The main gripe is that we had forwarded our luggage from Hakuba and I was first informed that reception was not attended to for 2 hours, then I was informed it was 3 and when we got there, it was 4. I was worried that nobody would be there to receive our luggage. Our luggage did arrive and was locked in the reception are but we were not informed, hence we went 3 days...

"We greatly enjoyed our stay at this property. It's a nice blend of traditional Japanese and western needs. We loved the onsen (although highly recommend going in the afternoon around 5pm or later at night because it gets BUSY), the complementary massage chairs, ice cream, and drink machine with matcha latte. We also took advantage of the 9-11pm complementary ramen, a nice pre-bedtime snack. The room was very nice, clean, and a good size. The only thing we caution is that the mattress was hard and the pillows aren't substantial, so if you're sensitive to that, bring your own pillow. We didn't eat breakfast here, but it looked good! Because of the tatami floors, you take off your shoes and walk in your socks, so be prepared for that."

"This was a highlight of our trip! A truly luxurious experience - it was the best shower of my life and the indoor and outdoor baths were restorative after a week of travel and climbing Mount Inari earlier that day. Lovely interiors and a gorgeous mix of modern and traditional."
