A comfortable, basic place to stay in Victoria at a good price, with a great pub in the basement. If someone wants luxury they will want to look at other properties but this place offers everything someone needs for a night or two, very close to downtown.

The hotel is delightfully quaint, the staff super friendly and helpful. The neighbourhood is quiet and an easy walk to restaurants, the Parliament Buildings and other sites and into town. Our room was very comfortable with a great bed and linens. Five stars for value, cleanliness, staff/service, area, etc. we will definitely stay here again.

Although the hotel is over 110 years old, it has obviously been well maintained and appropriately updated, which is part of its charm. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished, and the bed was comfortable. I only had two breakfasts in the dining room, but both were good and not expensive. The location is great for walking.
