"Friendly staff. Convenient location. Safe parking across the street. We had no view though. Just looked out onto a roof where seagulls were nesting . The two gentlemen checking us in were super friendly. Would ask for a different room next time but would stay again."

"Such an amazing historic property. Everyone on staff was so nice and helpful. We travelled up from Seattle on the Clipper and that provided a very short walk around the harbor to the Empress. My only unsolved issue (and I'm working on it) was a meal charged to my room that I didn't order or consume. I anticipate that this be resolved as soon as I can discuss it with the right department. "

"Very walkable to many interesting attractions. (Fisherman’s wharf, Museum, The Empress Hotel, Parliament building, shopping). A very quiet location that was one to three block distance from a variety of eating places. We were able to walk to the pickup locations for the attractions further away. (Malahat, & Bochart Gardens). The connecting restaurant to the Royal Scot was closed for renovation. The hotel was quaint and not fancy, but was very clean and comfortable. It had a small kitchen that was adequate that we used mostly for the mornings. We felt the price was reasonable for a vacation type location. Even though we didn’t use often, the Uber offerings were reasonable and very prompt at getting to our location. There were 3 of us (women) and we never felt unsafe at this location. Not a complaint, but no matter where you stay and unless you taxi or Uber, be prepared to walk up, down and around. "

"Great hotel right on the water downtown Victoria. The room was amazing - the hotel upgraded us to an amazing harbour-view room which was more of a suite which spacious, very clean, very comfy, with great views. Staff were friendly and efficient, and let us leave the car in the lot for a few hours after checkout so we could explore more."
