The facilities offered by the hotel are excellent especially for families with children. Special mention to receptionist Dzarif for making our stay more memorable with the seaview room. "Very family oriented resort! Close to the Imago mall but it’s not walking distance. You can grab and go to everywhere very easily. There was no hair dryer in the room so I had to ask for one. Breakfast buffet was very superb with various options from Malaysian food to Korean. "

"The shuttle boat leaves at 12:30, and checkin is at 14:00? I can only guess it's a cash grab to force people to get lunch at the hotel's restaurant. Checkin was chaotic. We had to wait for an hour for our room to be ready. Hotel staff put us in an un-airconditioned room to sweat in the heat along with the remanence of that day's breakfast that was still scattered on the floor. "The Borneo Eagle is an exclusive five star hotel - newly launched. The staff are excellent, facilities good - the only issue we had was the plethora of sand flies which caused a lot of issues sitting outside. We talked to the Manager about this and understand a machine is being shipped to deal with this issue - also the beach on the offside of the hotel was covered with plastic bottles and rubbish, which should be cleared on a daily basis to support the high quality nature of the hotel."

We arrived and only after contacting the property via phone, being asked to send a whatsapp message and sending proof of identity, were we given check in instructions and help actually finding the entrance to the property. Taxis will drop you outside an appartment/shop complex and it's not clear initially where to go.
