"We had a very lovely stay, staff was very kind and welcoming. Room was clean, amenities provided. Comfortable room with everything you need. Would definitely stay again! "
"Awesome location to enjoy the Saturday & Sunday Gaya Market. Comfortable with basic facilities. Highly recommend if you're planning to explore the nearby area."
"Very nice hotel, clean, no nonsense, and extremely quick reply. The bed was super comfortable and everything is within walking distance. Highly recommend!"
"I stayed here for 6 nights. The room was only $100, Australian per night. It was beautiful and clean and the staff were outstanding. This is the most central hotel in KK, right in Gaya street. Close to everything. Highly recommended. Eos"
"Enjoyable stay and a great budget property choice. Staff were all helpful, Wi-Fi good, rooms, although snug, more than adequate for sleeping and showering. The one thing that let the property down was the lack of options at breakfast. Everyday a different breakfast meal was given but you had no idea what it would be and didn’t have another option to choose if it wasn’t to your liking. That said, the quality of the food was good. Would happily stay at the property again if looking for somewhere...

Top Gaya Street Sunday Market Hotel Reviews
Mercure Kota Kinabalu City Centre
10/10 Excellent
"The location is great—very close to Jesselton Harbor. We booked the OWD course, so it was super convenient for us—only a 3‑minute walk. There’s also a big shopping mall nearby, plus it’s easy to find the durian street, fruit market, and seafood market. The hotel price is quite cheap, and it’s clean enough. It could be a bit better, but overall, it’s all good."
"Spacious clean rooms. Friendly staff. Incredible food. Excellent location- walking distance to the food markets, Sunday markets, the ferry port and malls. Special mention again to all staff there- extremely friendly and helpful. We had a great stay, thank you!"
"Very nice room, comfortable beds & good air con. However the shower was not good.
24hr reception, very helpful staff.
Plenty of places to eat nearby & good location to reach Jesselton pier on foot.
Just be aware that the Gaya night food market is on both Friday and Saturday, if you have an early start next day it is noisy! If you don't, it's fun!"
