"Great getaway resort away from the hustle and bustle. Perfect for a couple nights stay as may run out of activities within the vicinity if staying longer. Staff were amazing and kind! Thank you to all!! Property condition is a bit outdated with expected wear and tear but kept clean enough for an enjoyable stay."

Gaya Island Resort
5.0 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (441)
"Beautiful location, well organised, excellent food, friendly staff, amazing rooms. Many hidden taxes ... and service charge added even for buffet meal (which was self service ... although did finally remove when challenged). The private beach had a huge rubbish dump just behind the sandy beach. Very disappointing to see on a luxury trip. Great to see the conservation work with rescued turtles and coral. Strange to see complimentary ice lollies being handed out by pool, but only if you agreed...

Borneo Eagle Resort
4.5 star property
9.0 out of 10, Wonderful, (2)
"The Borneo Eagle is an exclusive five star hotel - newly launched. The staff are excellent, facilities good - the only issue we had was the plethora of sand flies which caused a lot of issues sitting outside. We talked to the Manager about this and understand a machine is being shipped to deal with this issue - also the beach on the offside of the hotel was covered with plastic bottles and rubbish, which should be cleared on a daily basis to support the high quality nature of the hotel."

Kasih Sayang Hill Resort
3.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (28)
"Great place with nice rooms and beautiful view (both to Mt Kinabalu and Kota Kinabalu). Standard Malaysian breakfast and decent lunch and dinner menu. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room (104) was very good although there are a few ants around (so make sure not to leave food around). Bed, shower and toilet were nice and clean. Internet worked quite well (not guaranteed in this area). Our best place in Sabah so far (out of 6 good hotels)."
