"I was initially a bit worried about noise from the very busy road outside, but the double glazing was excellent and I never heard any traffic at all. My single room was clean, comfortable, well equipped and had an excellent shower in the ensuite. My only slight niggle was the lack of BBC1 and BBC2 on the TV (despite me reinstalling the channels). "Ensuite was across the hall and shared, toilet down the hall - not what I was expecting and floor a bit rickety underfoot. "Hotel has been refurbished in parts. Our room was small but the bed was so comfortable. Small things need to still be addressed- toilet seat not fixed firmly, flickering light in bathroom not fixed. Staff didn’t seem to be focused on customer care as one fellow was on his phone the whole time when in reception. Service at bar was very disappointing. Outside entry was dangerous in wet weather. "

"Really enjoyed our stay here. It's right in the middle of the main shopping and dining area, and was the perfect location for us. The rooms are clean and comfy, and the staff is very helpful. They don't do breakfast, but give each guest a little goodie bag each morning. The pub downstairs is lively and fun, but not too loud."
