"Location is great. Facilities are great. Front desk great. Felt that hot water did not last sufficiently long for a family of 4. Had golf cart parked on our parking space and when we tried driving around it to get to our unit we scratched car on the hedges which is unfortunate as it is a rental car. "I wasn’t expecting much, needed a room to crash. But did not expect the room to be musty, sheets/pillow cases were musty and the pillows had black mould. "We had a small family reunion and Cala Lodge was amazing. This was our daughters’ first time in Monteverde. They were treated like family and felt the warm Pura Vida welcome at all times. There were exotic birds everywhere. The room was quaint and comfortable, set right on the jungle. "The rooms were small but quite sufficient, cost was very reasonable, and the beds were comfortable. There was a good hot prepared breakfast with choice of 3-4 options and fresh juice. The receptionists Wanda and Zadieka were absolutely fabulous and incredibly helpful - do not let these young ladies leave your establishment, they are so hospitable, intelligent, knowledgable of the area and out-of-this-world helpful!!!"

"The hotel staff were very professional and accommodating by providing excellent service. The hotel was conveniently located close to all of the restaurants and many of the points of interest. The hotel is very walkable but is at the top of a little hill so, wearing appropriate shoes is important. Very comfortable hotel and even had a smart TV in the room which allowed us to watch Netfix in the evening. Overall, I would recommend this hotel."

"Gorgeous tent and outdoor space, unbelievable views, great outdoor shower, hot tub worked well and appreciated that they had a dehumidifier and heater in the tent. The property itself has such amazing views of the sunset, and we were a 30 sec walk from our dinner at San Lucas which was great! Also loved the wide variety of free snacks and the kitchen. Be warned that the bathroom doesn’t have a dehumidifier so everything in there gets and stays pretty wet, but it’s glamping so wasn’t anything we didn’t expect! Seamless check in experience and the service was great at breakfast and the lobby. Probably wouldn’t stay for an extended period of time just due to the humid bathroom, but was such a lovely stay for a couple nights. All our tours also picked us up from the property or we were close driving distance - super close to town for dinner too! Recommend the Delhi Indian restaurant around the corner. Would recommend this one to anyone who wants a unique experience in Monteverde!"
