"Monteverdi Country Lodge was very nice stop on our first trip to Costa Rica. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful and kind, and that alone made the stay 5 stars in my book. The room was clean and comfortable. My only small complaint were a slight lack of electrical sockets in our room. We made do, but given how dependent we all are on our devices, a few more would have been nice. Also, the location is set back from the main road, so the location would not really be considered walkable...

"Hotel Claro de Luna was a lovely place to stay to be close to the cloud forest reserves. Walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Santa Elena. Beautiful Spanish style units with private patios. The staff are immediately responsive to any needs or questions. Extensive complementary breakfast buffet and my favourite thing... the 24 hour coffee station! Highly recommend! "

"It's a basic hotel with friendly owners and a cute little dog. The room has little room, as the beds (3 in every room) take up most of the space. "Staying at the Monteverde Lodge was one of the highlights of our CR trip. The setting with the jungle/window outside the property was tranquil. The food is amazing! Everything was presented beautifully. They set us up on several awesome tours with Rafael and we saw lots of wildlife we would never see on our own. The gardens and trails are gorgeous. We even saw a pack of capuchin monkeys climbing over the roof when we left. The staff did everything possible to ensure an excellent stay."
