"Comfortable, firm beds and pillows. Good breakfast buffet with both western and Japanese options. There are free snacks and coffee in the lounge area, and you have an option to get a light early afternoon meal as well. Hotel is next to a grocery store, where we easily picked up anything else we needed. Staff are courteous and very helpful. Our 8-year-old loved the hotel. We would stay there again."

"Great hotel. Clean, modern and right in the middle of downtown. Short walk to shopping, public transportation, restaurants, etc. The immediate area around the hotel can be a little touristy and obnoxious, but it didn't diminish our time there. Note: don't pay for the breakfast in advance, there are many restaurants & coffee shops in the neighborhood, and you are sure to find something you like very quickly. Recommended!"

"Overall excellent property. Nice lobby. Appears they change the art installations frequently . Few quirks they take away the water from the lobby in the evenings. Also the bakery opens at 8 am. Would be ideal if opened earlier. Excellent rooftop. "

"The rooms are spacious unlike the hotel I stayed at in Tokyo. The Staff are very adorable and friendly and polite and hospitable honestly it’s the full package. The services here are superb and the atmosphere is great. There’s tons of amenities unlike the hotel I stayed at in tokyo like the gym, spa, sauna, business room, pool etc."

"Hotel is in a lively shopping street with easy access to the metro and the fantastic Gion area with its lovely old town shops, and eateries. The hotel is clean and the staff very helpful. It might benefit from additional laundry facilities as it has 2 machines which we found to be almost constantly in use, but minor issue. The Onsen was marvellous and the room couldn’t be faulted. A great stay."

"Loved my stay at this hotel. It was the perfect place to come back to after a day out. And even if you decide to stay indoors, the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and relaxing (not to mention the spa!). "The rooms are large for Japanese hotels. When I requested a quiet room, it was changed immediately. Loved the bar for informal dinners. Close to bus and subway. Good shopping within easy walk. Friendly staff. Excellent French bakery next door."

The japanese breakfast every day was truly memorable, and the coffee shop on the property was beautiful as well. I could not recommend more, 10/10 stay, worth the price! "This is my fifth time staying at the Westin Miyako. The location is superb for seeing temples on the west side of Kyoto, and it’s always easy to get around, either via their free shuttle bus to Kyoto Station, or by nearby public transit with a few blocks’ walk. The staff offers world class hospitality. I could not have asked for a better stay. "
