"The music in the hallways are too loud. We had to request for it to be turned down twice - once outside our room and the other outside the business center. While ambience is important it should not invade rooms. However, housekeeping responded immediately each time in keeping with their overall excellence in response to guest needs."

"Beautiful old buildings that have a rustic charm. Two adorable cats live on the property and visited us at our villa. The staff was also very cheerful and friendly, and made us feel so at home and welcome. We hope to visit again."

"We stayed at the Smith House for 3 nights. The location itself is away from the main attractions but very close to the airport. There is a strip mall under the hotel which has a Pizza Hut, KFC, 7Eleven and a few other shops for convenience. The room itself was very clean and good sized. The morning breakfast was decent and few options to choose from. "

"Generally a great property and wonderful beach.For the beach towels one has to walk up to the pool area to get and return towels which can be a small hike in the hot sun. Great Thai restaurant and service. Dayana and Brassarie were great restaurants. However it always took time for the wait staff to get your order. You had to wave them down for additional service and to obtain your bill after you were done. None of these issues would deter me from returning."

"This property is really one of its kind, nothing commercialised about it. My mom really enjoyed the scenery and how peaceful it is here, it’s great for a relaxing vacation to just take your mind off things back home. It is the definition of slow living here, and learning to appreciate and be in tune with the beautiful surroundings and unique heritage houses. Bonus point being that there are MANY estate cats here who are very friendly and happy to lounge with us in our room everyday. Loved it...

"Service was great. Room was great. Ocean view on the beach. Front exterior of th ehotel is somewhat offputting but once you enter there is a great freindly atmosphere and the staff really are attentive to you. Cookies and fruit in your room everyday. Bar was friendly and breakfast was included."

"Very close to airport.( walkable). Our transport was delayed ) depavali weekend and we did not realise at the time how close the hotel was to the airport. Only issue or criticism was the tiles around the pool area. They were very slippery when they you were in bare feet or wearing thongs. Apart from that our stay was first class. "

"We read all the reviews of this hotel before booking and weren’t expecting 5star luxury but the hotel seemed good value and located where we wanted to be. The moment we stepped off the boat onto the island we knew we had made a great choice. All the staff were friendly, relaxed and made you very welcome. They seemed happy doing their jobs. The island is a paradise for wildlife.Everywhere is walkable and you never know what bird it animal you will find round the next corner…..and the monkeys!...

"We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, traditional Malay style hotel, featuring charming chalet style bungalows. The in-room amenities were excellent, and our children especially loved the swimming facilities, enjoying both the cascade pool and the main pool. One area for improvement would be the check-in process, which took quite some time. However, the warm hospitality, including a refreshing welcome drink and a cold towel, made the wait more pleasant. "The place is conveniently located within walking distance from the airport, making it a great option for travelers. While there isn’t much around apart from a small market, scooters are available on request, which was a huge plus. We found it to be great value for money, as having a scooter allowed us to explore a lot of the island with ease. I’d highly recommend it for those comfortable with driving scooters, as it really enhances the experience!"
