"Wonderful stay at this ryokan onsen hotel overlooking the ocean. Thoroughly enjoyed watching sunrise, while soaking in our private onsen bath from the balcony of our room."
"Very nice staff. However, there was black mold in the bathroom, the entire place is closed from 10am-3pm, it's hard to find the staff even during "open" hours, and it's far from the train station. It is very close to all of the 7 Hells and some of the best onsen in Japan."
"Right on the Beach ! Amazing amenities and restaurants within the resort! To be honest some of the best food I have ever eaten and for a great price!! "
"The buffet for both Dinner and breakfast is nice. My family enjoyed the prawns for steaming at our table. And also we could grill our food at out table for breakfast. Interesting and very fresh."

Kamenoi Hotel Beppu
10/10 Excellent
"The beds are quite comfortable despite looking old and simple. Only 1 bathroom and 1 toilet but we make do with it for 5 people. It's spacious enough for 5 persons. Hotel facilities are good enough for us for 2 nights."
"This property has a lovely 8th floor infinity pool public bath overlooking the bay. All rooms face the bay and had both a nice view and we're muiet - the ocean waves easily heard from your balcony which faced a public parks beach. Staff there was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had an excellent selection of both japanese and western dishes. "
"Everything was amazing, from the staff service to the food and the view was gorgeous.
Food: The menu changes everyday so we were able to enjoy various kinds of deliciousness. You can select your preferred timing for dinner and breakfast.
Room: Staff has already prepared hot water, tea packets and mini snacks for you to enjoy. While you are out for dinner in the communal area, staff will prepare your futon while you are away.
Toilet: The tub and washlet is separated. Water for the tub is hot spring water, not the normal kind so you can enjoy it in your room if being naked with strangers isn't up your alley.
Parking: Plenty of slots available."
Gaze at the menacing steam and bubbling mud pits around these otherworldly hot springs, where you’ll find crocodiles, steamed desserts and geyser eruptions.
