"Comfortable, wonderful Japanese style breakfast and amazing dinner provided. Staff is kind, courteous and helpful for local recommendations. Older accommodations, but very well maintained and very clean. Western beds very comfortable. No elevator but easy access to stairs. Staff will surely help with luggage if needed!"

"Excellent location close to main shrines, few blocks from main busline that runs to shops, lake and waterfalls. French half course dinner excellent, Our Suite was spacious and comfortable. Private public Spring bath available on 3rd and 4th floors."

"I stayed in a Capsule but everything was comfortable, all amenities were accessible and plase was clean. Just other guests using the cupsules area were not organized and clean. Area around the lake is beautiful and clean, be aware as everything around the shops and bus stopos around 6pm."

"Nikko was a great respite from the big cities, and Senhime was the perfect spot to refresh -- a beautiful and spacious room that faced the mountain and river, wonderful staff, excellent food, lovely indoor and outdoor bath. Its location is also excellent -- situated in a historic residential area that's an easy walk to the Nikko historic district, the imperial summer villa, the Kanmangafuchi Trail, and a botanic garden. "Great hotel and service was amazing. Quite off the beaten path however. You need to take a taxi to/from the train station if you have suitcases or to restaurants. There are buses but they only pass by 5 times per day. The hotel has a small confectionary where you can buy food and that helps but not really a full meal unless you order at least 4 days in advance. "

"Thank you Nikko Hoshinoyado- we had a wonderful Japanese experience in Nikko and at the hotel. We are sorry we don’t speak Japanese, and that made little things challenging a bit. We wish we knew that for a best experience we should have booked dinner at the hotel because we did not find a single suitable place to eat within walking distance of the hotel (October 18, 2024). So we did not have dinner that night. Breakfast, on the other hand was fantastic. We also loved the Onsen experience....

"A quiet, unassuming, and rustic inn on a small backroad, perfect for just getting away from the busyness of life. Staff are friendly and the location accomodates English speakers. Very close to convenient bus stations and nearby restaurants/tourist locations as well! Would go again."

"Hotel experience was awesome. Located near the world heritage site and you can walk through them in a loop in less than 3 hours. Hotel provides a shuttle from the JR station (need to reserve in advance). We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel (excellent food). They take you to your individual dining room and served the set meals that way. Didn't like how checkout was at 10am. Wish it was at 11am and it would've made the logistic much easier "

"The room was simply furnished, very clean with comfortable beds. The owner and his wife were very accommodating. It was wonderful to be able to have dinner at the inn, where we dined 3 of our 4 nights. The food was delicious and the portions large. The location was out of the commercial district but close to bus stop #14. "

"Spacious apartment with a washer dryer combo. Multiple seating and bedding options. Full kitchen for making meals at "home." Great place for a family with younger kids to stay, especially since some of us weren't feeling well and didn't want to leave the apartment."

"The view is amazing, the open bath is exciting with the beautiful river and mountains make me feel relaxed.the pure hot spring getting my skin so soft.very kind staff and the foods are delicious.this is the perfect place for the nature lover’s person."

"Feels very upmarket from the entrance all the way to the room. The Japanese room I stayed in felt extremely large; like a 5-star hotel in Tokyo. The washbasin area looks modern and is well equipped with amenities, including a face steamer. Separate toilet is large. Bathtub is deep for a good soak with a nice view of the outside. Parking is limited in front so you need to drive further in or up the slope. May be inconvenient if you are alone with heavy luggage and arriving late. Some of the fixtures also need attention as the mixer switch at the bathtub (room 305) was broken with sharp edges; this can be a risk for children, those with poor eyesight or using it in low light. I did not use the hot springs as I spend most of the time exploring the area by car. Highly recommended for couples, lone travellers and small families."
