"A lovely little spot, next to the river. You can hear the river lightly in the background from my room, which made it lovely to fall asleep to. A very friendly, warm welcome. Clean, comfortable - the only thing to note is if you’re arriving in the evening like I was, and walking from bus stop, it can be a dark walk, especially if you’re alone. But waking up there is beautiful surrounded by forests. The onsen is lovely too, looking out over the river, and private! "

"Thank you Nikko Hoshinoyado- we had a wonderful Japanese experience in Nikko and at the hotel. We are sorry we don’t speak Japanese, and that made little things challenging a bit. We wish we knew that for a best experience we should have booked dinner at the hotel because we did not find a single suitable place to eat within walking distance of the hotel (October 18, 2024). So we did not have dinner that night. Breakfast, on the other hand was fantastic. We also loved the Onsen experience....

"The staff was very friendly and the rooms were comfortable. There was common space to eat, and food available for purchase at the market. Only a couple places to eat nearby, town is 20 minutes away by foot and busses were not as readily available as we had hoped. There are three busses that take you into town in the AM and only three available in the evening to return to the hotel. Both are by reservation only."

"The outdoor bath attached to the room was really nice! The look and feel of the hotel grounds was fantastic and the breakfast was quite nice. The room however wasn’t old and worn out. The room was for the most part dark and dreary. The rooms could really use a renovation. If they were nicer this would have been a a hotel I would sincerely recommend to my friends."
