"Hotel is very close to all the world heritage sites right across from the parking lots. Walking distance to sites and train station The half board option is very nice. Dinner served in the room There is onsen on premise The hotel is somewhat older but that maybe part of its charm. We chose to stay in Japanese style room with tatami floor. The futon was much more comfortable than I thought. "

Also, be aware that this is not in Nikko proper - and a bit tricky to get to - you need to take a Tobu Nikko train from Nikko to Kinugawaonsen Station.Be aware that the staff speaks VERY limited English so try to communicate with them ahead of time to plan.
