"Beautiful ryokan that has been a highlight of our trip. There was so much food for both dinner and breakfast, which gave us the chance to try some more unusual dishes. The staff make the place, friendly and attentive, they make you feel very welcomed and take care of all your needs."

"We were worried about what the in-room half open bath would be like, but it exceeded our expectations. Even though it rained when we arrived, it certainly gave a different vibe. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff we dealt with were very friendly! If we get a chance to go again, we definitely want to stay for 2 nights to try the different kaiseki dinner options and check out the other private onsen options. "

"I miss Hotel Okada so much! Wish we had stayed 3 nights instead of 2. Or even more! 20 min walk into town if you can't catch a cab. Older hotel, but still very clean and comfortable. The onsen was such an incredible experience for us. THE BUFFET!!! Oh my lord, all you can eat sashimi and more! Different, traditional, Japanese food than what we are used to in North America. "Lovely hotel with charm. We had a half Japanese and half continental room for 3, located in the annex, and it was pretty spacious. The staff was absolutely fantastic throughout our stay and we loved the dinner and breakfast. It was great to be able to use a shuttle (for a very small fee) to take us to the train station at the end of our trip as the walk is a bit much with suitcases."

"Beautiful traditional wood building. Have access to the main building’s onsen. Very helpful staff. Room is super clean. Noise from the main street during night and early morning is not pleasant. Also the room has strong wood smell."

"This was our most interesting stay in Japan, so if you’re quirky, read on! Atami Kinjokan embodied everything we found fascinating about the town itself - it’s aged, grand and like walking through the hallways of a decadent yesteryear. The dinner served was lovely - and what a view from the banquet hall. Staff were friendly and helpful. "We had a fantastic stay at Yamagaso. We were able to drop our bags off at the main hotel so we could go sightseeing before check-in. Dinner was a delicious kaiseki meal served in our room. It was great having our own private bath in our villa with hot spring water. Our host Momo-san was sweet and very helpful. If we ever return to Hakone we would love to stay here again. "

"The hotel was comfortable, the staff helpful, the food plentiful and tasty (dinner and breakfast buffets are included). It was lovely eating dinner in my robe like the rest of the visitors. The two downfalls are that wifi is only in the main lobby (albeit free), and the hotel I'd very much dated, as though I was staying st by grandmother's place. I still had a lovely stay, and the price was very affordable, so all in all it was worth it."

"They lost our reservation and made us sit in the lobby for half an hour while waiting to figure out if we had a place to stay or not. It was too late to order dinner there--you have to book in advance. The room was nice, and the hot spring-fed bath on the patio was lovely, though it might not work for two tall people at the same time. "

"This was my second time to stay at the Sotetsu Fresa. It is super convenient to Yokohama station so it is easy to go to local shopping, Yokohama Chinatown. or even Kamakura. The rooms are super clean- as are most Japanese hotels, and my rooms was relatively spacious comparing to other Japanese hotels. Some reviewers have commented on the train noise. I stayed on the 13th floor, and while I could hear the trains, they weren't loud enough to keep me from getting a good nights sleep, and I'm a light sleeper. The train noise is simply the price for the convenience of the hotel. I'd stay at this hotel again."
