"I was very nervous booking through Expedia for this trip but it was very helpful to book both the stay and flights in one! The only thing I added on was transport to the airport and I strongly suggest having that booked (we used DAT). Excellence was absolutely amazing. All of the staff are friendly and make sure guests are satisfied and have a drink in their hand! There are so many options of things to do during the day around the pool, at the gym and at night. You truly do not need to leave the resort to have a good time (but they have a lot of excursion options if you wanted to leave that pick you up right at the resort). All of the food was delicious. No stomach issues at all. They provided bottled water all throughout the resort as well. Drinks were amazing - they could really make anything you wanted and they have waiters and waitresses walking around at all times to make sure you don’t need a refill. The resort was spotless, staff cleaning around the clock to ensure that. Room service was amazing with a very vast menu available 24/7! When we wanted our room cleaned they did an amazing job. Also they have a safe in the room for your belongings. This was the best stay I have ever had! "

"Excellence. El CARMEN is a great resort in every way. The staff are amazing and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable. The ocean area is gorgeous and beach service is amazing. We had great meals at all the restaurants we went to although we weren’t able to get to the mall in the time we were there. Good experience from the beginning to the end. "

"Wonderful property for stays with a family as most of what we needed was provided by the hotel. Our butler (Jose) was amazing at servicing our needs/requests expeditiously - thank you, Jose! The only con I would point out is the floor of the ocean is rocky, but with the number of pools this hotel offers, this isn't a problem. Overall, great hotel with wonderful and very friendly staff that I would highly recommend."

"This was our first trip to the Dominican and it was great. The resort was very well kept and the service was top notch. The food options were very good and there was something for everyone in our party. My only quibble is that we booked an Aqua Club suite and it would have been nice if there was one more Club Lounge location on the property. Not that it is a large property by any means, it would be nice to have another located down by the beach. Otherwise, it was an overall fantastic experience. "

"We really enjoyed the rooftop patio, amazing having two bathrooms and 2 soaker tubs! Jose Jimenez was an amazing butler! He booked all of our reservations and went above and beyond to make my wife and I very comfortable. To improve on, eliminating people bringing their own music to the pool, having 3 different speakers playing music is annoying."

"The staff was phenomenal!! The bar tenders (Jose, Enmanuel, Ranfi, Pedro, Miguel, Geomary) are extremely knowledgeable at making drinks, humble, fun, and are truly the heartbeat of the resort. The food at the buffet was delicious and the variety changed daily. Thanks to Pedro and Gabriel for always being so attentive and professional. The Hunter and Tandori restaurants are a must. Food is awesome and the staff (Josefa) gave great advice on selections. The pool bar was lots of fun and drinks kept flowing thanks to Torres and Sergio. The gym staff were helpful and courteous. Activity/tour coordinator Jon was a mountain of information and helped us with 5 activities that made the Punta Cana experience memorable. Definitely recommend this resort."
