"Pleasantly surprised by our stay. We only booked as a stopover on the way down south and we are so glad we did. Beautiful grounds and castle to explore. Breakfast and dinner were superb with excellent ingredients used throughout. Will definitely return when they are hosting a musical event. "

"Not only does the hotel look grand on the outside it’s excellent on the inside too. From the friendly welcome at reception to the exceptionally well appointed bedroom I couldn’t fault this lovely hotel. From the thick fluffy towels to the little cartons of milk on the hospitality tray that did indeed “taste like real milk” just as it said on the lid… everything I needed was thoughtfully provided….tissues and a little biscuit to go with my cuppa…..the little things that so many hotels have now stopped doing made this hotel really stand out! The hotel was lovely the grounds were lovely and the location was convenient but quiet. We didn’t eat in the hotel so I can’t say what the restaurant and bar are like but judging by everything else I would guess it would b excellent too! I almost felt like I’d stepped back in time and was getting good old fashioned British service in a modern setting. Wonderful!"

"Nice overnight business stay , clean comfortable hotel good pool and facilities. BUT what made this trip was our host who checked us in Aurelie , what a fantastic lady who went above and beyond to help us , she really is a credit to the hotel and hopefully she gets some recognition for her hard work. "The secluded countryside location was idyllic, contemporary room with extremely comfortable bed. A bench outside the lodge would have, in my opinion, added to the experience. The staff here were fabulous and a special thanks goes to the guy behind the bar who helped me back to my room, a real gentleman. I would recommend a stay here for anyone looking for old fashioned and quintessential english welcome and experience"
