"Really fantastic stay. Both for the experience, and easy location to the monkey park (which the staff provided a free shuttle to and from). Decided to go for half board - breakfast/dinner - and the food was SO good, especially the second night’s dinner. Staff were all wonderful and attentive and the Onsen (indoor and outdoor) was the perfect way to end the day. 10/10 recommend and will stay here again if I’m back in the area."

"The hospitality (service and meals) at Shiganoyu Hotel were amazing. While we did not speak Japanese and the staff did not speak English, they used a translation tool for conversation and didn't let that be a barrier. It was so comfortable for our family of 5 - very homey and welcoming. The tea and treat upon check-in was a nice surprise and delicious. The onsen was a relaxing bonus! "We stayed here and were impressed with the service. It is primarily a ski hotel and we needed to transport our baggage down the slope at an early hour...the staff willingly did it by tobaggan. This is a traditional japanese hotel...witg futons and communal bathing area which was fun to experience. Snow monkeys were fun to see."

"Quaint family run Ryokan that’s big enough to offer everything you’d want / need, but small enough to feel like home for a couple days. Very friendly owners. Delicious breakfast included with our stay. Outdoor onsen was beautiful; indoor “family/private” onsen was nice with kids."
