Quiet area to stay, close to transit awesome place
My friend and I stayed here for two nights as we traveled around London. The rooms were smaller and didn't have an elevator but we managed. The staff were supper helpful and really nice. The breakfast was AMAZING with a lot of selection. They set up a taxi to take is to the airport when we left and also to do a big bus tour around London. Over all we would recommend this to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay in London. The staff was so helpful and willing to provide us wirh extras. Our choices at breakfast were great...providing more than expected. Our room was small, but clean and neat and the bathroom amenities were updated and very nice. We appreciated the nice clean towels every day and the special soaps.

Awful hotel
I never complain but this was a dreadful experience. I booked hotel because of early breakfast and when we arrived were told it starts at 7:30 and the new manager had not updated the website. They said they couldnt do anything as the staff don't arrive until 7:30 & this was the time we had to leave. We would not have booked this hotel had this been stated on the website. The shower didn't work properly, it wasn't clean and we had only 1 pillow each which were flat. This shouldn't have any stars. It was the worst place we have ever stayed.

the only fault is that there is no lift and when your on the 4th floor !? sorry one more hiccup it's like the continent no drink making facilities and you do miss your cuppa last thing at night and first thing in the morning. Location fantastic for the price.

Good for the price I paid
The best thing to say the hotel was spotless and well decorated. The room was a reasonable size and the shower worked. The stairs are narrow and steep with no lift so not suitable for any one with mobility issues. The breakfast was ok not generous I would not rush back but would not be disappointed if I stayed again. I have been in many worse and a few better.

It was not what I expected. Very small room.
It was really hard trying to find out if I could have twin beds in the room instead of a double. I e-mailed, called and faxed and never got a response in regards to the bed situation.

Good location
Initially, we were assigned to the 19th floor, w/ no elevators. Our 6 yr old said it was the worst hotel ever. When we came back after our cruise we were given a different room. Huge, on the first floor, w/ chandelier & very classy. But, the cold water in the shower doesn't work. Breakfast is ok. But the location was great.

HOTEL IS CLOSE TO VICTORIA TRAIN STATION.
HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING UP TO OUR HOTEL ROOM AND NO LIFT/ELEVATOR and NO CONNECTION BACK HOME BECAUSE NO FREE WIFI. OTHER THAN THAT I WILL RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL JUST REQUEST 2ND FLOOR IF NOT THE 1ST FLOOR UNTIL THEY WILL HAVE A LIFT.

nice hotel and close to some points of interest.
the hotel is good but need a lift so if your room is in the 4th floor it will not be hard to bring in and out our luggage and need to have a free wifi for the customers convenient getting connected always.

St George Hotel NOT Saint George Hotel!
No lift and not suitable for older people with medical conditions or anyone with a disability. Friendly staff and very attentive. Breakfast very limited in choice but sufficient. Small room. No choice of twin beds. Hotel was Difficult to find and is often mixed up with the other hotel with the same name in another area of London. Located close to public transport. Photo attached is of building opposite which is the same as where the hotel is situated.

A London Experience.
A small hotel located in two premises, not adjacent. Our room was on the 3rd floor up 66 steep stairs with the dining room in the basement. The premises were looked after and were clean. We chose a room with 3 single beds which provided more room for my wife and I. The bathroom contained a shower, toilet and basin. There was hot water in the morning but not at night. The breakfast was cereal or juice, 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, tea or coffee or hot chocolate. Transport by bus was a few minutes walk away and was frequent. The Underground station was further.

Caveat Emptor
I read reviews of this hotel before I booked it, and I hesitated. There were some scathing reviews by people who said they would never come here again. During my first 24 hours, I regretted it. When I arrived, reception was closed and some guy was sitting in the dark and gave me the key. He said to talk to "the girl" in the morning. I went to my room, which was small but adequate. There was no remote to the TV and I didn't have the wifi password either. The next day I went to breakfast, which was boring but adequate, and I stopped by the reception area 4 times (including one time when I waited for 30 minutes) but no one was there. I had to buy expensive wifi from BT to get my work done. The next day, finally someone was at reception and I got a remote for the TV and paid 5 pounds for the wifi. I stayed a total of 4 nights, and it dawned on me that this is just not the kind of hotel I am used to. It is a family run business and the people there are not trained or organized like professional hotel staff. I realized that, just as if you were staying in a home, you have to go track people down. Once you do track them down, they are happy to help. It occurred to me that the man in the dark was waiting just for me, because he knew I had still not checked in. That kind of service means that you have people who are looking out for you. In the end, I wished that the hotel was a little cheaper, but overall, I'm glad I stayed there.

Don't Bother
The Hotel is old and needs some updates. It's clean enough but lacks some basics. No lift, stairs only and lots of them. The staff are very plain and simple and somewhat unfriendly. It is close to the station but I would keep searching!!!

Disappointing
Fifth-floor walk-up, no lift; this should have been noted on Hotels.com's description of the property. Staff barely spoke English (and this hotel is in London) and was unable to provide even basic services, such as calling a taxi or directions (confused left and right). Phone requests from the room were ignored. "Full English breakfast" actually was a "partial English breakfast" with limited items. Bed sheets had holes. Clean and a good location.
