"An amazing and unique traditional stay in a small town outside of Kyoto. It is secluded and we were still able travel to Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and Kobe. Public transportation is provided multiple time every morning, and although I did a lot I highly recommend walking around the trails, and temples. My favorite temple was right behind the hotel, and it held amazing views and was not crowded at all. "Awesome and convenient hotel! Easy access to trains. Short distance on train from Kyoto station at a fraction of the cost of the Kyoto station hotels. Quiet park outside hotel. HUGE rooms. Awesome bathrooms. Tons of room compared to other Japan hotels!"

"What a gem of a hotel. We loved this place, the room was comfortable and clean. Beds were comfy, staff were always smiling and happy. The hotel itself is beautiful and we especially loved the amenities table with all the goodies including facemasks and gorgeous hair oil. Close to the station and great food. Next time we're in Kyoto we will book the Richmond no hesitation. "

Great hotel - highly recommended

"Beautiful new property, near station. Lots of food options for all meals nearby. We had a junior suite and then moved to 2 rooms. Both were great. Don’t forget to try the onsen or book the private one, treat experience. Hotel check in takes some time but they give you a nice beverage while you are waiting. All rooms have toothbrushes, slippers and pjs. We had a nice fancy drink at their bar, they charge a cover fee but it was fine, it’s pretty pricy but a nice escape: "
