"Nice hotel with friendly staff. Rooms were clean and tidy. Hotel is a bit tired but OK. Nice garden area. Only downside is lack of elevators, I had fifth floor room which was a trudge to get to. Overall very good value for money. "

"I have stayed at this property during my last two visits! It’s an excellent hotel near a very popular shopping destination, Thamel, in Kathmandu, Nepal. The price is reasonable, the rooms are small but very clean and like the ambience. They gave me an upgrade with a great view of Kathmandu. "Beautiful heritage property with lots of interesting quirks and fab decor. Loved that we had several dining options. Local craft markets within the grounds of the hotel was such a bonus. Staff were attentive though on one occasion one or two at reception could have done better. Overall very enjoyable stay and wish we could have experienced it for more than one night. Definitely recommend."

"Bujan picked me up at the airport as pre-arranged and transferred me to the hotel. It was a pleasant comfortable journey and Bujan was friendly and hospitable. He proved equally friendly at the hotel checkin and efficiently got me set up in a well appointed spacious room with a nice view of the pool and garden for my short stay. "The employees are very nice and attentive. The property is new and clean. Occasionally you get asked what is your room number multiple times during a meal. I think one time should be enough. One thing I didnt like: constant cleaning during service at the restaurant. It just doesn't feel right to be eating and someone to be constantly mopping and cleaning around you. Please, clean before and after service hours or if there is spill. Thank you. "

"We've stayed in about 10 hotels in India and Nepal. This was my favorite as the building has a lot of character and the staff is amazing. Gopi is super kind and helpful. The breakfast options were really good. The location is also perfect for food and shopping. "

"I initially booked 2 nights but ended up staying for 8. You might find something that looks similar and is a few dollars cheaper but I didn’t even go hunting once I found that Jay Suites had an elevator, powerful AC with a simple on-off controller, a good bed, excellent shower with unlimited hot water, an in-room fridge with 2 free 1 litre bottles of water daily, and a better than average breakfast for about $5. The staff were exceptionally friendly and dealt with one minor plumbing issue...
