"We spent 3 nights at the Nirvana and loved it. Our room was spacious and clean and had a wonderful belcony. The breakfast Buffett was lovely, and the gardens amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed being a block away from great shipping. I would highly recommend the Nirvana."

"Amazing hotel nestled in the heart of Thamel (the tourist district). Very walkable to great restaurants and the owner Rahul helped give me multiple suggestions for food and tour guides. Staff was extremely nice and helpful as well!"

"Very friendly staff. Convenient to Thamel, yet just outside the busiest streets. Clean hotel, good size room, in decent shape. The only negative, no elevator. "

"We enjoyed our stay at this lovely establishment. The staff was very attentive and kind. The restaurant was very good and we appreciate the fact that they source organically and locally. The premises and accommodations themselves were what attracted us in the first place, as you feel you are in a different era, being constructed in a beautiful historical style. Very special vibe! We highly recommend the Kantipur Temple House as a rarity amidst all the hotels in the Thamel area."

"Fabulous! I’ve never been disappointed yet in the many times I’ve stayed there. It’s always a memorable experience staying at Shanker Hotel. Beautiful architecture, great garden and outdoor pool, and absolutely wonderful staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. If you’ve never been to Kathmandu before then this is the place to stay. You won’t regret it!!!"
