"Goodness us…. PLEASE treat yourself and stay at least one night in this beautiful traditional hotel with its own onsen! We had a superbly decorated very very very large traditional room (tatamis), a view of the little port and the sea of Japan with sunset…. And we discovered once there that one could book their private onsen! Oh and yes, it’s ‘only’ a 100 years old family hotel…. "Rooms were larger than normal for Japan. Right next to the train station. Drug Store open late next door. Large shopping mall across the street with a supermarket open 10a to 8p. For the breakfast , dont get there at the stop time as everything is put away. Very few selections and all things that were supposed to be hot were cold. Very low rating for breakfast."

"Lovely decorated ryokan, but no lift to the rooms. Rooms were very nicely equipped even though it was not large. My room windows faced the river with the “rotating” bridge over the river to Amanohashidate, the view was very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is great, next to the area’s main attraction. Some shopping on the road leading to ryokan, the Kaiseki meals were well presented. Delicious meal even with the ingredients not top grade."

"During our 2 week stay so far in Japan, this has been one of our favorites. It is so convenient to the train and bus stops. The staff was wonderful even giving me towels so I could use their foot bath after we had checked out but needing to kill 2 hours before it was time for our train back to Kyoto. We would definitely stay there again. "
