"I stayed in a Capsule but everything was comfortable, all amenities were accessible and plase was clean. Just other guests using the cupsules area were not organized and clean. Area around the lake is beautiful and clean, be aware as everything around the shops and bus stopos around 6pm."

The washbasin area looks modern and is well equipped with amenities, including a face steamer. Separate toilet is large. Bathtub is deep for a good soak with a nice view of the outside. "Hotel is a bit off the beaten tourist track, but worth it for a quiet visit. Great value for money and the host is so kind!! I was traveling solo and felt very welcome and safe. Easy walk to the abyss. By far one of the best dinners and breakfasts I had in Japan!!"

"A quiet, unassuming, and rustic inn on a small backroad, perfect for just getting away from the busyness of life. Staff are friendly and the location accomodates English speakers. Very close to convenient bus stations and nearby restaurants/tourist locations as well! Would go again."

"Small, very good affordable option along the river within walking distance of the main shrine sites and immediately adjacent to the trail to the Kanmangafuchi Abyss. Seems to be routinely booked by hiking tour groups, at least the two night we spent there. The hotel showed no availability on their website, but I was able to book a room on Expedia."

The hotel is very well maintained with super amazing mountain and river views, and their Onsen are top notch with super high quality amenities! "Charming ryokan. Onsen on top floor has separate bathing for men and women, lovely way to begin and end the day. The rooms come with half board, so a very special dinner and breakfast filled with Japanese delicacies. Location is convenient, it’s about a 15 minute walk from the tobu Nikko station but you can take the number 1 bus that leaves you a block or so away. Quite convenient to the attractions. Lovely mountainous view with brook from the window."

"Just a tip for those like us who are new to "no-receptionist check-in" stay-in/hotel/motel, make sure to check your email for the Room Number and Security Code. We got our "room information" via email, sent two days before the start of our stay.
